Private Introduction

The private introduction is the first stage of the DGF Method. It commits neither party to anything beyond a considered reply.

Before writing

The House prefers a short, considered note to a long form. A few sentences on the matter, the situation, and the reason the House is being approached is more useful than particulars of any asset.

A private introduction does not create representation, engagement, or mandate. The information submitted is held in confidence and used solely to consider whether the House is the appropriate recipient of the matter, and to reply.

Not every matter is received. When the House is not the appropriate recipient, it will say so plainly, and — where possible — indicate a more appropriate hand.

A meaningful introduction typically comes with a name we already recognise, or with a written context sufficient to be considered on its own terms.
